Summer Practice 7

15 sec

1 hour.
  • Lighter on the gray rocks. Same on lake and dirt.
  • Think more tonally especially in the bottom right.
  • Find a better shadow shape in the middle.

Summer Practice 6

15 sec
Not as good for some reason. Must be in a rut.

  • More necks. Back of necks.
  • Proportion.
  • Foot horizontal.

Note:

  • How triceps are from this angle.
  • How you can see the tenser.

1:08. Accidentally went over because I thought I stop at 45 after and not 35.
  • Basically work on atmospheric perspective. Some of the tree in the background are too dark.
  • More vibrant patches of light on the grass on both side of the path.
  • Correct color.
For all of its fault, I was actually surprised I blocked in as much as I did. I know it doesn't look like much but I had low hopes of accomplishing this much in about about an hour.

Summer Practice 5

15 second gestures

Muscle Tracing

1 hour
  • Lightest value on the foliage of the mountain isn't light enough.
  • Neither is the shore.
  • Neither is the sky.
  • That block of sky on the right isn't correct.

Summer Practice 4

15 seconds gestures

Muscle Tracing
Note:
  • The position of the latissimus dorsi.
  • Biceps Femoris is on the outside, bulges out and it doesn't wrap neatly around.

Summer Practice 3

15 sec gestures

  • Draw heads in proportion to body and not to what you see.
  • Proportion in general. x2
  • Less lines to convey an idea.
  • Subtle hints to show which side is being looked at. For instance, the back of the head or the side of the torso.
  • Center of gravity.

1 hour speed painting.

Center volcano still needs more head.
Better rendering of lava glow.
Better rendering of smoke.
Finish the background.
Right side needs darker value. Darker top left corner. Lighter below that.

Summer Practice 1

15 seconds gestures
  • Shapes
  • Start with the torso instead of the head.
  • Simplify with opposing curves.
  • Line of action

Tracing muscles
Things to note:
  • There is a muscle between the biceps and triceps. Do not know if this is visible for an average person.
  • You can see the tenser from the front.
  • There is a band that's not the sartorius that helps make the butt.
  • The sartorius goes down below the knee.
  • Striations in the muscles.
  • A simple muscle system for the head, hands, and feet.
  • Wraparound of muscles.

WIP
1:51

Nearly two hours so I'll have to count this as my speed painting and my mastercopy for today as well as my personal project.
